Canyonlands of the Southwest

The sandstone country of the American Southwest is home to many of the world's most awe-inspiring canyon environments, cut away deep into the layers of soft stone by water and time. The Grand Canyon, slot Canyons, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon and numerous natural bridges and arches are just a few of the spectacular landscapes that can be seen in this region of the world. This is a landscape that offers far more than meets the eye. It is an arid landscape comprised mostly of the sparse foliage that makes up the Great Basin region, but its sandstone features, from monoliths to canyons thousands of feet deep, beckon photographers and wilderness enthusiasts from all over the world.
