About the 6-day trips:

Winter offers photographers unmatched opportunities to create unique images, which is one reason it has always been my favorite season. Constant changes in snowfall, ice formations and the exciting weather keep things interesting as the landscape is always evolving; never showing you the same thing twice. No one does winter better either, half of all of my photographs of the landscape were made during this season, and I will show you why!

The Canadian Rockies combine some of the biggest peaks with the most accessibility offered by any mountain range on the continent during the winter season. They also feature some of the best possible opportunities for capturing great light shows due to its location and the exceptionally long winter ‘Magic Hour’, which is over 2 hours up here!

This is a frigid region at this time of year but an incredibly beautiful world also, that is filled with amazing and unique photo possibilities we’ll often have all to ourselves for photography. For those who have done the basics and are ready to go exploring, this is your trip. This trip will be filled with unique ways to enjoy winter and photography together and is sure to be unforgettable for all who are along. On this tour we’ll maintain the utmost flexibility, which is essential for chasing the light, wherever it may be.

We’ll see places no other photo tours visit. We’ll consistently get to the best areas at the best times. We’ll use snowshoes, ice cleats and lots of warm weather gear too, any of which can be provided for you free of additional charge. If you’ve never used this gear before, it is as easy as can be!

Hiking and Physical Requirements:

All participants need to be prepared for hiking conditions that may include steeper and/or slippery terrain for short distances while we are making our way into the best areas to shoot but the hiking is largely easy. You should be capable to hike up to 1km on well maintained trails on the longest day.

As always, your deposit is transferable to another tour if your spot can be filled by another individual. Should you need to cancel, refunds minus a $200.00 administration fee are available as long as it is prior to 90 days before the start of the trip. Final payments must be made by the beginning of the trip, unless other arrangements have been put in place.
