Some of the worlds most impressive vertical walls lie in the most distant of reaches of the Northwest Territories. Canada's Mackenzie mountains offer the viewer unsurpassed solitude, aurora and autumn colors in September, and here we explored extensively over the course of several trips. There are dozens of smaller ranges that make up the Mackenzie, including the Selwyn, Werneke, Nahanni and more. All have peaks like this giant that have gone largely unphotographed and are seldom heard of outside occasional mentions among climbers. So here it is. This was year one of my project to explore here, and trust me, this is just the start! Photo © copyright by Marc Adamus.
